VISTA Volunteers Positions
- Adult Membership Ambassador

Directs recruitment of long-term and episodic (short-term) adult volunteer members to work with girls or other adults; works closely with
the girl membership ambassador, family involvement ambassador, and the registration ambassador; forwards membership registration forms and
membership registration fees to registration ambassador; processes background check forms to council; calls and verifies four (4) references;
forwards registration information to learning opportunities ambassador.

- Supports the Ambassador by encouraging recruitment of long-term and episodic (short-term) adult volunteer members to work with girls or other adults in a particular VISTA community; Family Involvement partner and the registration partner forwards membership registration forms and membership registration fees to Registration Ambassador; calls and verifies four (4) references; forwards registration information to Learning Opportunities Ambassador.

Coordinates with council's community partnership campaign staff manager to give organizational presentations (women's groups, Rotary,
collaborators); becomes very familiar with all six recruitment and service delivery options that occur in all communities within the VISTA.

- Supports the Community Sponsorship Partner and assists during organizational presentations (women's groups, Rotary, collaborators); becomes very familiar with all six recruitment and service delivery options that occur in all communities within the VISTA.
- Cookie Program Ambassador
- This volunteer is the point person to the council Product Program Group and has ultimate accountability for the Cookie Program with the VISTA. She/he supervises the Motivator, Order Coordinator, and Site Coordinator Partners for each community with the VISTA.
- Cookie Program Motivator Partner
- This volunteer is responsible for implementing motivational strategies on goal setting, parent/guardian involvement, and expressing the importance of contact with girls during the Cookie Program.
- Cookie Program Order Coordinator Partner
- This volunteer is responsible for administrative tasks associated with the Cookie Program.

- This volunteer is responsible for implementing motivational strategies on goal setting, parent/guardian involvement, and expressing the importance of contact with girls during the Cookie Program.
- Fall Product Activity Ambassador
- This volunteer is the point person to the council Product Program Group and has ultimate accountability for the Fall Product Activity within the VISTA. She/he supervises the Motivator and the Order Coordinator Partners for each community within the VISTA.
- Fall Product Activity Motivator Partner
- This volunteer is responsible for implementing motivational strategies on goal setting, parent/guardian involvement, and expressing the importance of contact with girls during Fall Product Activity.
- Fall Product Activity Order Coordinator Partner
- This volunteer is responsible for administrative tasks associated with the Fall Product Activity.
- Fall Product Activity Partner
- Formerly Fall Product Sale Specialist. Supports the Ambassador; oversees troops/groups’ Fall Product Activity Motivators and Order Coordinators; encourages non-parent volunteers (friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, other episodic volunteers) to assist with these positions at the troop/group level or various other duties to ensure a successful financial and learning opportunity.
- Family Involvement Ambassador

Formerly Family Partnership Ambassador. Manages family partnership campaign; encourages fathers, grandparents,
and friends to oversee the presentations and process working to make goals; coordinates plans with staff individual
campaign specialist; encourages troop committees, shared leadership, and family participation.
- Family Involvement Partner
- Formerly Family Partnership. Supports the Ambassador by managing family partnership campaign for troops/groups in a particular VISTA community; encourages fathers, grandparents, and friends to oversee the presentations at troop/group meetings; encourages troop committees, shared leadership, and family participation.
- Finance Management Ambassador
- Formerly Treasurer. Keeps necessary records for VISTA; reports information to council staff accounting manager on a timely basis.
- Finance Management Partner
- Formerly Treasurer. Assists in the VISTA recordkeeping process and helps create reports on a timely basis.
- Girl Membership Ambassador
- Formerly Director of Organizers/Recruiters. Plans for recruiting new girl members through various school and community family recruitment events (utilizing the six recruitment and service delivery options); coordinates work of many partner school organizers/recruiters and liaisons; sees girls are placed in existing and new troops/groups; forwards membership registration forms and membership registration fees to registration ambassador; monitors activities of local community events coordinators.

Supports the Ambassador by recruiting new girl members through various school and community family recruitment events (utilizing the six recruitment and service delivery options) within a particular VISTA community; sees that girls are placed in existing and new troops/groups; forwards membership registration forms and membership registration fees to Registration Ambassador; monitors activities of local community events coordinators.
- Internal Communications Ambassador

Becomes VISTA spokesperson relaying VISTA, council, and GSUSA information through a "blended communications" plan (VISTA Web pages,
VISTA meetings, VISTA newsletter for those without Internet access); works closely with director of volunteerism and communication.
- Internal Communications Partner (Webmaster)
- Responsible for distributing to the appropriate Ambassador, via email, questions and comments submitted at the VISTA Web site. The Webmaster will also cross-train with the Internal Communications Ambassador to provide temporary coverage of the VISTA Web sites.
- Learning Opportunities Ambassador

Combination of orientation specialist and/or trainer. Coordinates, conducts, and/or assists with trainings (age-level and special topics)
within a VISTA; assesses volunteers' training needs, and keeps records;
facilitates "e-groups" (e-mail groups) to answer or re-direct questions; addresses face-to-face training
questions through informal study groups at VISTA meetings; identifies and reports trends to staff adult training coordinator;
promotes blended learning opportunities.
- Learning Opportunities Partner
- Combination of Orientation Specialist and/or Trainer. Supports the Ambassador; coordinates, conducts, and/or assists with trainings (age-level and special topics) within a particular VISTA community; assesses volunteers’ training needs, and keeps records for a particular age-level; facilitates age-level leader “e-groups” (e-mail groups) to answer or re-direct questions; addresses face-to-face training questions for a particular age=level through informal study groups at VISTA meetings; promotes blended learning opportunities.
- Multicultural Ambassador

Monitors potential and overlooked population groups; compares local data to potential (outlined in Adult Pluralism Action Plan);
keeps alert to community changes through various media outlets (newspaper, chamber, school newsletters); reports diversity to
staff Hispanic initiatives specialist; requests translated materials for non-English speaking groups through staff Hispanic
initiatives specialist; gets involved with groups through community events.
- Multicultural Partner

Formerly public relations/publicity. Reports communities' activity news to local newspapers and radio, following a monthly
theme calendar; shares same information with staff director of public affairs and external relations so that feature stories
and press releases can be developed and reported to the board of directors; becomes VISTA spokesperson in the various communities.
- Public Relations Partner
- Formerly Public Relations/Publicity. Supports the Ambassador; reports communities' Girl Scout activity news to the Ambassador (who will work with the media), following a monthly theme calendar.
- Registration Ambassador
- Formerly Registrar. Oversees troops' membership data entries (preferably entered at the troop level); verifies VISTA membership records with council records.
- Registration Partner
- Formerly Registrar. Supports the Ambassador; oversees a community’s troops' membership data entries (preferably entered at the troop level); verifies VISTA membership records with the Ambassador.
- VISTA Manager/United Way Ambassador

Each VISTA Manager/UW Ambassador oversees a VISTA "cabinet" and reports to the director of membership and program.
A staff membership specialist assists. VISTA manager/UW ambassador; creates meeting agendas; collects current
information from each ambassador; coordinates the work of the cabinet.
