Troop leaders need to deposit the national dues and family partnership money in Chase Bank. Also troop leaders need to complete data entry. Registration is not complete until the signed forms are turned in. Forms need to be turned in within one week of completing the data entry. All cookie parents and fall product coordinators need to be registered this year.

New Leader Orientation:

There are two new leader orientations scheduled: Wednesday, Spetember 17 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and Thursday, September 18 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Marisa N’s house. New leaders should bring their driver’s license and snail mail addresses for 4 letters of reference. Please RSVP to Marisa N. All new leaders are required to complete New Leader Orientation.

Brownie/Junior Training:

Ellen S expects to offer training sessions for Brownie and Junior leaders in late October and early November. Please watch your e-mail for more information. Leaders are required to attend this level specific training within six months of becoming a leader or moving up to the next level.

Girl Scout Fall Product:

This is the official fall fundraiser selling nuts, candy and magazine subscriptions. In order to raise funds in bake sales, etc, troops need to participate in the Fall Product sale and the Cookie sale in January.

Troop orders will be entered on the computer this year. Training for fall product will be at Sara S's home. Two times are available: 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25 and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 28. Any troop selling fall product must have training before they can start to sell. There are many new changes this year. Selling dates are from Oct. 10th until Oct. 26th. If you have any questions please call Sara S.

CPR–First Aid Certification:

Did you know that all leaders must renew their CPR certification every year, and their First Aid certification every three years?

If you cannot make any of these classes, please check the Evanston Recreation Department guide: they often offer CPR and/or First Aid classes at the Chandler-Newberger Center. These classes may be longer (2 nights) and more expensive.

Cadette Game Night:

All Cadette Girl Scouts from VISTA 8 are invited to come to a Game Night and Campfire on Saturday, 9/27/08 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at Adahi Program Center. This will be a girl-planned event, so girls are invited to attend a planning meeting to pick games and snacks. This planning meeting will be Sunday, 9/21 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.at Mary Beth M’s home.

Please invite your girls and hope you can come. Laura U

District 65 Application for Use of School Facilities:

If your troop meets at a District 65 school, you will need to complete and submit the updated "Application for Use of School Facilities" form and the Non-Discrimination Clause/Hold Harmless Agreement(The Non-Discrimination Clause/Hold Harmless Agreement is one form that is two-sided); These forms can be obtained from your school office or from the D65 administration building.

The completed forms should be submitted to Sheri Grefenson at the D65 administration building.  Sheri’s phone number is 847-492-5887 and her fax number is 847-328-7459.  Please note that your school principal needs to sign the "Application for Use of School Facilities" form before you submit it to Sheri.
