  • Introduction of Team Members
    • Each team member introduced themselves along with a brief description of they title and job function.
  • End of Year Survey Results
    • Barb L. provided a high level overview of the survey results that were taken at the end of the school year. Sent 244 requests to answer survey, only 91 responded. The majority of the feedback was, to have more program, breakouts at girl level, more training opportunities, less guest speakers, 1 to 1 ½ hour meeting length. The team has made a few changes due to the survey response. We will have more program opportunities for the leaders as well a more breakout sessions to get leaders talking to each other and share ideas. We will keep our meetings to 1 hour to 1 ½ hours and less guest speakers. Council has provided over 400 training opportunities between now and November, please take this opportunity to take training if you have not already done so.

    • Barb reviewed the information inside the leader folders distributed that evening.
  • Yellow Ribbon – Cathy S.
    • Cathy S. thanked the Girl Scouts of VISTA 6 for their help in providing Cookies during Operation Cookie Drop, as well as, all the help Yellow Ribbon has received from troops putting together the boxes and collecting items.
  • LEAP
    • You can now register for LEAP (Leader Enrichment Activity Program). The event takes place Friday, October 2^nd through the 4^th at Camp Juniper Knoll in East Troy, WI. Please log on to the Girl Scouts Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana website to download the registration and class information. http://www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/just-for-volunteers/upcoming-events/leap
• Event Announcement à Julie R.
  • Julie R. announced we will be having a Girl Scout Bring a Friend Social On October 16^th, place to be determined. Please watch out for flyer with all detailed information. This is an opportunity to invite girls who are not Girl Scouts and join a troop. Please encourage your girls to invite friends who are not Girl Scouts.

  • Energize leader Activity
    • Traci & Susan from GCNWI council taught us the Father Abraham song.
    • Traci reviewed the new training schedule. She also invited anyone who is interested in becoming a trainer, to contact Traci at the Vernon Hill Regional Service Center, 847-573-0500.
• Registration à Donna-Marie A.
  • Going forward, leaders are to make the deposit and turn in all paperwork to their corresponding Registration Partner. Please note, all East troops are to turn their paperwork into Donna-Marie A. after October 1^st.
• Finance à Dawn R.
  • Please contact your Finance Partner when opening up a checking account.
  • All Finance reports from the 2008-2009 Girl Scout year need to be turned into Dawn R. for filing with Council.
• Fall Product à Selena R.
  • Fall Product Training dates are
    • Wednesday, Sept 16 @ 7:00 PM at St. Hubert PMC Club Room
    • Tuesday, Sept 22 @ 7:00 PM at St. Hubert PMC Club Room
    • Monday, Sept 28 @ 7:00 PM at St. Hubert – Meeting Hall
  • It is highly recommended at your Fall Product Coordinator go to one of the trainings listed. Many changes have been made that Troop Coordinators need to be aware of.
• Girl Membership à Selena R.
  • We are looking for leaders who are excited about Girl Scouting to be part of a committee for Girl Recruitment. If you are interested, please contact Selena @ soleria66@comcast.net.  
  • We are renaming the School Organizers to School Coordinators. The school coordinator is a point of contact for each school for the Girl Membership ambassador to contact. If you are interested and your school does not have a School Coordinator at the present time, please contact Selena @ soleria66@comcast.net.
• Vernon Hills Shop à Andrea G.
  • We have set up a process for leaders to order their products from the Vernon Hills Regional Service Center. Please contact the Vernon Hills store prior to a VISTA meeting to order and pay for your items and our Membership Specialist will bring your items to the next VISTA meeting.
  • Thank you to Jessica K and Andrea for thinking of an alternative way of shopping at the Vernon Hills shop
• Closing Ceremony à Denise U.
  • Before our closing ceremony, we had 3 door prizes to give away. We will be giving out 3 door prizes at each VISTA meeting. 
    • A Gift Certificate that can be used towards a VISTA event
    • A Girl Scout Program Item
    • Girl Scout Wear

Denise Closed our meeting with encouraging words and a take away for leaders to keep whenever they need to be energized
