4/1 VISTA 6 Minutes
  • Happy Leader Appreciation Day – pens and/or road atlases for all. Thank you from Barb to all from her and on behalf of the girls
  • Hanover Park Parade Info – need a volunteer to coordinate GS marching. Please see Barb for paperwork
  • Seussical the Musical Information – this is not a VISTA event, just an opportunity for a summer outing for the troops. Please contact the people listed on the flyer directly.
  • VISTA 2 event – is now open to all and will be at Putting Edge in Hoffman Estates, not eSkape. Sign up by April 4th.
  • June VISTA meeting Silent Auction – please provide donations to Barb or Dawn R. In need of knick-knacks, gift cards, gift baskets, etc. Please turn in by mid-May.
  • VISTA 6 patch contest – please see flyer. Designs due by next VISTA meeting for voting. Prize to winning designer.
  • Adult Recognition – please nominate your fellow leaders who have done something you feel should be recognized. Awards to be presented at June event.
  • Training – Dates available for sign-up as follows:
    • Basic Leader Training, Brownie and Junior 4/12 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., 4/28 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. all at St Hubert’s
    • GS on the Move 4/19 9:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at St Hubert’s
    • Camp Craft TBD
    • Check the GSICC website for other dates
  • Finance – Jewel is accepting GS tax exempt letters. If you have any problems, contact Dawn asap!
  • Tall Ships – information has been mailed to leaders of troops 4th grade and up. Check website for information as well.
  • GS Shop update – next Double Punch Day is 4/21. Free shipping on all orders of $25 or more on any order placed except on Double Punch Day! April and May hours in effect – see GSICC website.
  • Daisy Bridging Day sign-up is due asap.
  • Spring Registration – see presentation in full on-line and in registration packets
    • New Partners: West (337 & 338) Karen Z, East (309, 318 & 336) Lori M
    • New Registration code for entire VISTA is 206
    • All troops need to register for Spring so your troop number is reserved, you can start right up in the fall, and things proceed smoothly during re-alignment. All troops who register will receive new program booklet.
    • If you cannot attend the troop registration training, contact Donna-Marie. Registration packets are only available at trainings.
    • Safety-Wise troop definitions will be enforced – 5 girl minimum to a troop. Don’t sweat this – how the girls in troops smaller than this will be handled is going to be thought out thoroughly before we proceed. We have time. Keep doing what you’re doing.
    • Passwords will be emailed out soon. Cannot access e-council before 4/14.
    • Remember any adult who drives and/or attends overnights must be registered.
  • Family Partnership – met Bea from council
    • New flyer
    • Goal is to ask 100% of families to participate
    • Bea and Julie R are available to attend events/meetings
    • New CD-ROM is available to do the presentation for you from Julie
    • New display boards also available from Julie
  • Beauty and the Beast patches distributed
  • Need volunteer to coordinate Septemberfest Parade – see Barb
  • Check-out mini-trainings available online
  • New leadership program, continue business as usual. New Daisies will have a 2 year program
  • Bridging – let Dawn R know the names of girls and level moving to and the VISTA will provide certificates.
  • Handbook Exchange – let Dawn R know if you/your troop is willing to hand-down used books and she will coordinate it for you
