Gold Award Project - IT'S FASHIONABLE TO TAKE CHARGE

Saturday, October 27, 2007 - Noon to 2:00 pm

Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004

One in every five girls ages 13 to 18 years old report being physically abused by their boyfriend/partner; one in three girls ages 13 to 18 report being stalked, either physically or electronically (emails, cell phone, text messages) by their boyfriend/partner; forty percent of teenage girls from the ages of 14 to 17 say they know someone who has been assaulted by their boyfriend.  For my Gold Award Project I want to increase awareness of “Teen Dating Violence” in a way that girls and their parents will understand and remember and that way is through fashion.
