Hello Girl Scouts!
Relay for Life of Schaumburg is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at the Flyers Stadium and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
Relay for Life of Schaumburg represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.
We have a real need for a couple of troops to help Friday night June 15th in two different areas. The first is helping to set up luminaries around the track from approx 4p.m. to 5p.m. The second is planning and providing crafts for the participating kids to do while they are on a break between 6p.m. and 9p.m. Each participant will recv a patch.
If you would be interested in helping, please contact our ACS staff partner, Melissa Henkel, at 847-368-1166 x223 or at melissa.henkel@cancer.org. Here’s to a great Relay season!
