4). FALL PRODUCT SALES – not too late
There are brand new, exciting products this fall. We have a new vendor, new incentives, new nuts, and magazines. This is a great way for girls to learn to set money goals for their projects this year. The sale runs from October 7 – October 23. The directions are easy to follow. If you missed the training on September 7th, you can contact one of your Community Product Manager for materials and training:
Fall Product Managers for SU #405 AND Park Ridge Chris W. & Sue S.
Fall Product Manager for Niles/Morton Grove Joyce M.
Fall Product Manager for Skokie/Lincolnwood Susie S.
5). SERVICE UNIT FINANCE MANAGER – Sandy H. (Park Ridge)
All Bank Accounts need to have two authorized signers from their troop and a designated person from their community. Please DO NOT use your SSN. You must use the GS Federal Tax Id#36-3871241. TCF and Harris Bank seem to work well with GS in our area.
6). SERVICE UNIT EVENTS SAVE THE DATES
This year we are sponsoring three Service Unit Events.
- Caroling Party/Hot Chocolate: Friday, November 25, 2011. Traditionally, on the day after Thanksgiving, Park Ridge Community hosts a Winter Festival. All stores are open and Santa comes to town. Every year, many Girl Scout troops carol uptown and then meet for hot chocolate and cookies at St. Paul of the Cross. Girl Scout troops are also invited to make outdoor ornaments for the tree in Hodges Park. Click here for preliminary information. More information will be available next month, but ornaments usually need to be turned in to the city in early to mid-November, so plan ahead.
- Thinking Day 100th Birthday Celebration
Date: March 10, 2012Time: 10am- 12:30pm
Place: White Eagle Banquets in Niles
Cost: $15.00 per person (includes full lunch, entertainment, goodie bags and more!)

7). TROOP MATERIALS
Each troop will receive one printed copy of this year’s Volunteer Essentials [www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/volunteer-resources] and Training Calendar [www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/adult-learning-opportunities]. If you were not at the meeting, contact your School Organizer first, or Community Consultant. Copies of these materials are also available online. Please be sure to refer to these often, as many of the forms and documents you need throughout the year are included there.
OUR NEXT SU 405 MEETING WILL BE OCTOBER 12, 2011 at 7:00 PM at ST. JOHN BREBEUF.
So that you can plan ahead, subsequent meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Every troop should have a representative at every meeting.
