Outdoor Training Modules 2 & 3

Module 2: This hands-on, 4-hour session prepares you for cabin camping and outdoor cooking. Fire building and several outdoor cooking methods will be practiced, such as propane stove, box oven and Dutch oven. Outdoor progression and readiness will be discussed.
Module 3: After completion of this 3-hour module, you will feel comfortable going tent camping with your troop. Emphasis is on tents, variety of cooking methods, map and compass, safety, readiness, and girl planning.
According to a recent council e-mail, Morrison Program Center is one of our council properties to be "rested." Resting means that all activities and programs at that property will be suspended, and it will be minimally maintained following a closing ceremony and open house in early October 2011. In addition to receiving your training, you will be giving the Morrison Program Center the send off it deserves. You will have the honorable distinction of being the last group of volunteers trained for outdoor programs at this location.
