 a. Junior Achievement Presentation – Samantha Morris

 b. Financial update–Karen D—start-up money for Daisy troops only. Team decided to offer $5/registered girl/troop. A bank account must be opened for troop in order to transfer the funds.

 c. Hub Happenings–Karen D & Loretta H—

 Realignment, per Wende Wilson, CEO of ILCC, & Stephanie Spring we are not realigning today. They are continuing conversations, but feel the area would be too big. Split 7 groups into 5 and 2, and ILCC be in group of 2 with Prairie Winds council. This year we remain GSICC. Troop #s won’t change this year. Wendee wants to come to one of our meetings, perhaps our next meeting in November, and be available for questions.

 Prairie Winds have made available to our Council all programming opps to us! Check out VISTA 3 website for link to their activities.

 National Council session Oct 30-Nov 2, 2008, need delegates, application available on website, Council will interview, in Indianapolis, IN.

 Program Development Model—redefining age levels, etc. see Karen for more information.

 Awards—Award ceremony given Feb 23, 10:30 a.m. - Noon (corp meeting), awards 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. recognition event, same as annual corp meeting, Saturday, at Hyatt in Deerfield off Milwaukee. New Adult Recognition folio has all the forms to nominate leaders/volunteers/ organizations for awards on the website. Nominate volunteers, keep them in mind!

 STEM Sat’s—our first program box is about Science in Everyday Life, Jr-Teen girl scouts. Focus is how science plays a role in everyday life. Available for checkout from the storage locker.

 Please welcome Heather, new Council rep, working with Loretta.
 E-council passwords—call Janet S or Julie S for password, don’t call Council. E-council is for registering girls with Council. Different from Fall Products.

 Tidy Up Take Down Oct 19-20 at Happy Hollow, contact Dennis Doyle at the Hub for help. Food provided, stay in lodges, bring gloves, 5th grades and above.

 Girl Scout Shop—troops should buy from our Council … reminder! Our shop supports our Council only. Oct 15 next double punch shop day. Use all your troop numbers!

 E-council should be up and running by tomorrow.

 Nov meeting, rep from Chicago Storm is coming for quick presentation.

 STEM Sat Oct 20, Designed for girls 9-17, go online to register, up to 100 girls. One Sat every month this year.

3. OLD BUSINESS

 a. Fall Products–Rachel F—Sales start Oct 12-28, materials available tonight. Breakout after for questions.
 
 b. PADS Update–Anne B—thanks to all who’ve responded. Only 1 troop signed up for setup, we have filled nearly every month for setup, some are sharing, March is available to share. One person should be there every Sunday of the month. Table decorations are all filled. They are thrilled to have our help.
 
 c. Food Drive Report–Gina F—very successful, 3,225 food items collected, Rachel F’s troop helped sort the food. 180 families on monthly basis are helped. 15 troops participated. New contact at Township office, Karen Baker has left. All programs will remain in place.
 
 d. Cookies–Jeanne P—recruiting for partner positions are needed. Training scheduled Oct 29th & 30th at the Hub, 2 night sessions, one during the day. Palatine reg areas have combined into 1—348 (327, 328, 329).
  Motivator & Order Coord. Order coordinators collect T1s, enter cookie orders and incentive orders, financial and deposit reports and take to Hub.

  Timeframe is end of January and March, to turn in money. All money will be due before Spring Break.

  Site Sale Coord—reserve dates and times with troops and businesses wanting to do site sales.

  Incentive & Delivery Station—all cookies & incentives must be delivered at same location for 348 (327, 328, 329). Sue G can have incentives delivered to her home for pickup.

  348—indoor delivery, but needs help sorting about 10,000 cases of cookies. Need volunteers to help sort (indoors!) and get them ready for pickup. 6-8 people, 2-3 days, a few hours a day. Older girls can help. Feb 16-22 will be delivery date. Mel’s place, near Palatine Post office off Colfax. (Size of 348 is of concern and we are in talks with Council about this issue.) Sorters--Linda B, Rachel F, Tammy M, Sandy C, Troop 6141.

 e. DCFS Stocking Project–Carrie B—provide 200 filled & decorated xmas stockings for DCFS kids. If you want to do any amount of stockings, contact Carrie. Materials available now. We’re at 124 now, short 76. Need by Dec 3.

 f. Spring Camporee–Sandy C—hard at work, Wild Rose is reserved, April 4-6, 2008. Sleeping overnight Fri and/or Sat. Dec 3 meeting will begin registration, first-come, first-served for sleeping. Specific info at Nov meeting, costs, etc. We won’t make money, just want a good event for the girls. Two prices depending on overnight stays. All food will be provided! No cooking! Skits, campfires, songs, crafts, games, bonfire!
