AN INVITATION TO GIRL SCOUTS IN GRADES 9 – 12

What are some of the issues that sway your choices or impact your path to a healthy lifestyle?  Do you have questions about the daily pressures with friends and family that you continually face? Do you eat what you are supposed to?  Are you a couch potato or are you on the move exercising regularly? Does this all pique your interest?

Being healthy is more than knowing the right foods to eat and getting out and exercising, it is feeling good about yourself and having the support of family and friends.

Get some friendly advice at Fit, Balanced and Informed,” Saturday, Feb. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Lewis University, One University Parkway, Romeoville. This is a health fair that addresses the concerns girls, like you, have in making variety of healthy choices.  The event will take place in the College of Nursing and Health Professions Building. The program is presented by Girl Scouts – Prairie Winds, Inc.

Booths, workshops and demonstrations will cover the gamut of topics – from healthy eating, stress management, peer pressures (dating, bullying, risky behaviors), family issues, to exercise, appearance, and internet safety.  Here you can ask all the questions you really wanted to ask in health class!  By the end of the day, you will undoubtedly look at your life and lifestyle in a whole new way.
