The International Fair is a tradition within the Girl Scout program. The friendship and diversity themes remind us that we are an international family of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides, and this event gives us the opportunity to learn about the customs, crafts, activities, and games of our sister Girl Scouts around the world.

February is the month we celebrate scouting around the world and International Fair is a great way for your troop to commemorate Thinking Day (Feb. 22). By attending and participating you may be eligible to earn the 2011 World Thinking Day Patch.

The 2011 World Thinking Day theme is: Empowering Girls Will Change Our World.  The 5 countries being focused on by WAGGS this year are:  Bolivia, Cypress, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nepal and Yemen.  Consider exploring one of these countries and sharing with others what you have learned.

This is a wonderful event to bring young scouts to as they have a lot of fun and learn new things and they get to interact with older girls.  For brownie troops and above, presenting a country is a great way to complete requirements for try-its or badges and this is a perfect event to complete some of your bridging activities!

Please see attached registration form for sign up procedures and event information.

Registrations are due by January 15, 2011.
