Project Linus Service Project

Project Linus Service Project

We are Senior Girl Scout Troop 2416 working with Project Linus, all all-volunteer organization that makes blankets for sick infants, children, and teens. This project will help us earn our Gold Award.

At our event each Girl Scout will design and color one quilt square with permanent fabric markers. Each quilt square will be sewn into a Project Linus blanket. Each troop will learn about Project Linus and what they do and will share a snack and receive a patch.

When: Friday, November 14, 2008

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (limit 50 Girl Scouts per session)

OR

When: Saturday, November 15, 2008

Time: 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (limit 50 Girl Scouts per session)

Where: Rolling Meadows Community Center, 3705 Pheasant Drive, Rolling Meadows, Senior Card Room (park & enter in back)

Each troop should bring: 1-2 yards of Muslin, cotton, or flannel as a contribution to Project Linus; juice or pop and cookies/brownies to share for snack. We will supply cups, plates, and napkins.

  • Time preference: Fri 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.; Fri 7:15 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Sat 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.; or Sat 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $3.50/Girl Scout (cost covers supplies & patch). If you’ve participated before and already have a patch, the cost is $2/Girl Scout (no patch).
