Welcome everyone, especially all new leaders.

Training calendars passed out

NEW Volunteer Essentials book passed out (new book for both old and new volunteers - replaces previous books)

Meeting Minutes:

Monday, August 23, 2010 - 7-8:30 pm

Longfellow School, 501 Arlington Heights Road, Buffalo Grove, Illinois

1.   VISTA to purchase outdoor cooking equiptment to be available to all troops who pay $5 storage locker fee.

      - Will include:

  • Dutch ovens
  • pie irons
  • charcoal chimneys

       - Items will be stored at Julie Gs home.

2.   Need Girls for Focus Group: "What do girls want in an online experience."

  • Takes place Aug 28 from 10 am-10:30 am
  • all girls age 5-18 can register (will be divided into age appropriate groups
  • contact Pam S, leader of troop 782 to register

3.   VISTA 2 Girl Scouts to March in Buffalo Grove Days Parade

  • Sunday Sept. 5, 2010
  • Meet at 12:15 at Cooper School
  • March off around 1 pm
  • all participants need permission slip (available on website)
  • one chaperone from each troop required to watch the kids you know
  • Parents can walk with daughters or can pick up at end of route
  • Contact Kathy O, leader of troop 40358 to register

4. Lisa R, VISTA Storage Locker Ambassador, needs your $5 if your troop wants to be able to use any of the items in the locker, or the new outdoor coking supples.

  • You can bring the money to next month's meeting
  • locker contains bridge, flags for flag ceremony, books (many never opened), program boxes
  • locker location in indoor facility on Dundee Road, Wheeling
