Girl Scout Nanotechnology Event
Saturday, April 28, 2007 - 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Northwestern’s Evanston campus
Northwestern University is the scene for the 5th annual All Scout Nanotechnology Event. Hosted by the International Institute for Nanotechnology, this event offers scouts an extraordinary opportunity to see science research in action at a world-class institute. Scouts will learn about the exciting new field of nanotechnology and meet and work with scientists whose discoveries will profoundly affect their futures. At the conclusion of the event scouts will sit with their scientist mentors and enjoy pizza, pop, and talk. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers of high school age and with a strong interest in science or engineering are invited to attend. The event will be held on Northwestern’s Evanston campus on Saturday April 28, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To register or ask questions email Mike Kleppinger at m.kleppinger@sbcglobal.net. Cost is $8 per attendee. Five Scouts maximum per unit/troop will be accepted in order to accommodate as many highly motivated and interested Scouts from the Chicagoland area as possible. Accepted units/trooops will receive an information packet which will include instructions for some interesting and fun advance research. This research will help Scouts get more out of their visit – and it may win them a prize! To learn more about Nanotechnology visit www.discovernano.northwestern.edu.
