Daisy/Brownie "Science Sampler"

Saturday, November 21, 2009 - 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Vernon Hills Regional Service Center, 650 N. Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, IL 60061


Science Sampler is a program designed for Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts who wish to learn more about science. During each "Science Sampler" the girls will be able to participate in various experiments. There are 3 dates for this event, 11/21/09, 1/30/10, 3/6/10. Each will feature different experiments.

Examples of experiments include:

  • creating homemade ice cream
  • tye-dying a t-shirt
  • making Silly Putty
  • fingerprinting
  • creating erupting volcanoes
  • launching rockets
  • learning about optics
  • flinging ping pong balls
  • making edible comets

Cost: $15 per girl.

A registered adult must accompany the girls throughout the program. Troops must follow Safety Wise Guidelines for adult/girl ratio. Bring a lunch. Girls are not permitted to leave the premises during the program.
