Buffalo Grove Days Parade

Sunday, September 6, 2009 - 12:00 noon

We will meet at Cooper Junior High in Buffalo Grove. Pick up your child at end of parade route

VISTA 2 is invited to march in the Buffalo Grove Days Parade

Attached is the map and instructions for the BG days parade.  We received our best location ever -- formation number 16, zone 1.  (I’ve been doing this for over 10 years, and we’ve only had zone 3 or 4.)  So I suspect we’ll march off quickly, and be done sooner than usual.  Parents should probably position themselves at the end of the route (see map), so they can retrieve their brood and perhaps the kids can watch the remainder of the parade.

As a reminder, at least one adult (parents or leaders) from each troop must be present to keep an eye on their own group.   Each troop can individualize their march. You might want to hand-toss candy, wear distinctive shirts, etc.  Scoot, skate, walk or wagon.  It’s up to you. We will be standing outside Cooper Junior high school to gather the girl scouts.  Any parent who wants to drop off their scout between 12:15 and 12:45 can do so, and I will walk them to our position. Adults who want to join us in walking in the parade or who arrive after 12:45 can park their car and proceed directly to our parade position.  We’ll meet up there.  Parents:  Please retrieve your child at the end of the parade route (ie, Crestview Terrace).

Attached is a generic permission form.   Please personalize it so that RSVPs go to individual troop leaders.  Leaders can then e-mail the event coordinator by August 30 with a final count so I have a general idea of who is coming.   Have each child bring the permission slip with them to the parade.  Be sure to include a cellphone number of a parent, to facilitate pick-up at the end of the parade.  I ask that each parent/leader from a troop collect these forms on-site, and keep track of your girls.
