STEM Saturday: "Kitchen Science"

Saturday, December 13, 2008 - 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Vernon Hills Regional Service Center (The HUB) 650 N Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills, IL 60061


STEM Saturdays, is a program designed for Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors who wish to learn more about various fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Each STEM Saturday will focus on a different topic.

Everything, even the kitchen sink, is used during this Kitchen Science program. Come and participate in various fun science experiments that use ingredients found in the kitchen. Make your own ice cream, discover how to make homemade glue and butter, learn about yeast, investigate acids and bases, create your own relaxing bath soak, and homemade facials.

Cost: $10 per participant. (Covers snack, patch and goodies. Girls need to bring their own lunch.), capacity 100 girls

Please Note:
A registered adult must accompany the girls during any of the STEM Saturday programs. Troops must follow Safety-Wise girl to adult ratio. Bring a own lunch. Girls will not be permitted to leave the premises.
