Who’s up for a trip to the Big Apple?  

Girl Scouts - Prairie Winds Council is planning a trip for 30-35 people to New York City in June 2008. This four-day trip is open to eligible Girl Scouts from Illinois Crossroads Council. Travel is planned and organized by EF Educational Tours / Smithsonian Student Travel Division.  All we have to do is pay and have a great time! 

Now open to Junior Girl Scouts in 6th grade, STUDIO 2B, Cadette Girl Scouts, Senior Girl Scouts, and adults.

Registration is now closed.

A deposit of $150 is needed to secure your space on the trip. Signing up is easy to do. Go to www.smithsonianstudenttravel.com and enter code number 428452.

Trip includes: round trip airfare and ground transportation, hotel accommodations, breakfast on days 2-4, dinner on days 1-3, overnight chaperones, personal tour director (24/7), local licensed tour guides and buses, attraction entrance fees.

Proposed 4 Day Itinerary:

  • Day 1: Walking tour of Midtown (5th Avenue, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trump Tower, Empire State Building at night.)
  • Day 2: Guided tour of New York (Times Square, Central Park, Greenwich Village/SoHo, World Trade Center Site, Metropolitan Museum of Art, attend a Broadway show.)
  • Day 3: Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
  • Day 4: Walking tour of Central Park (Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Fountain, Friedsam Memorial Carousel), Depart for Home.
