VISTA Meeting

Meeting Agenda:

Monday, November 10, 2008 - 7:00 p.m.

Townline School Cafeteria, Route 60 and Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills

VISTA 15 Freemont School, Hawthorn School District, Libertyville, Green Oaks, Mundelein, Vernon Hills

At this week’s VISTA and community meeting, Hawthorn attendance was very low.  When we discuss issues and events, your voice will not be heard unless you participate - please do come in December!

A huge thank you to Troop 3097, Chris R and Denise P, for a super fun Hawthorn Camporee this fall!  The girls in the troop earned their Silver Award for all their planning and hard work!  Congratulations!

Our Hawthorn Partner for Registration, Barb W, will not be able to continue in this specific role this coming spring (her troop is leading the Junior Badge Workshop, and she will still be the VISTA Registration Ambassador and leader for two troops).  So we need a volunteer ASAP to learn from Barb the responsibilities of a Registration Partner.  Please remember that the Registration Partner does NOT enter all individual registrations into the system, but does ensure every troop has a troop number, will answer questions on the registration process, etc.  Please contact either Valerie or Barb with any questions you may have and to volunteer!

Across the VISTA, there were over 40 girls who participated in the Fall Sale who were not registered.  This is not allowed by the council.  Please be sure you and your troop are registered ASAP.  It is also a good idea to make sure your adult volunteers/parents are also registered so they are covered by insurance.

If you did not sign your troop up for Fall Product pick up, please contact Madeline P.

Holiday Basket information has been provided to those participating troops.  Please contact Mary S, Glori H or Carlene L for details.

Cookie training for Cookie Parents will be on December 8, from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Townline.  Please make sure your Cookie Parent attends.  This training will be the first portion of our regular VISTA/Community meeting of December.  Contact Eden S or Ali W with questions.

We are still needing additional volunteers to help Donna C with this year’s Friendship Fair.  Please contact Donna to volunteer and help select this year’s theme.

The VISTA Spring Camporee has split into 2 weekends due to the size of our group.  May 1-3 still has about 70 openings, and May 15-17 still has about 140 openings.  Both will be cut off at 300 each.  The current registration flyer is attached.

Please log onto the VISTA website for VISTA and Community event details - there are quite a few happenings this fall, and service projects in preparation for the holiday season.  www.ilcrossroads.org/vistas/15  Also note that due to issues of planning last year, late event registrations will no longer be accepted.  This put a great strain and stress on our volunteers who run the events and is really not necessary.  So please be sure your girls are aware of all events on time so they will not be disappointed!

Thank you for all you do for our girls!  Your efforts make a huge difference for them.

Valerie
