VISTA MEETING AGENDA AND NOTES

COUNCIL

COUNCIL LIASON

(Reese Nelson)

Greetings ladies,

There were many questions last night and I just wanted to follow up to make sure that I’m answering everything that was asked. Please pass this info on. Some things I’m still working on and some things I have answers for.

Questions I’m still working on:

How can we improve our communication as a vista?

Can the survey dead line be extended?

Can we have more online “how to” resources?

Can we have a more interactive online training sign up?

Do we need a Jewel specific Tax Exempt card?

Questions I have answers for:

Do all adults at a “Girl Scout” event (i.e. roller skating) need to have insurance coverage?

Yes- if you do not know how many adults will be coming, estimate. Please fill out this Form:

Mutual of Omaha Plan 2 Form

Since it is an event sponsored by the Girl Scouts we could be held liable and need coverage.

Do all adults with access to girls personal information need to fill out the Volunteer Application?

Yes- Every adult that works with the girls and has access to their personal information should fill out the application and be registered. This will be more paperwork in the long run, but I our girls safety is well worth it! A back ground check only needs to be done once. Lets focus on how we will handle this during spring registration. Here is a copy of the form:

Application for a Volunteer Position

Confidential Volunteer Background Check Release Fm

*** It is best is all adults are also registered

If I missed any group questions Please let me know. If you asked me an individual question I will be in touch with you!

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS

The Service Delivery Task Group, comprised of council volunteers and staff, is reviewing our current service delivery methods, including SERVICE UNITS, ASSOCIATIONS AND VISTA systems...They hope to pinpoint best practices, remove what does not work, enhance what does, and develop the best model of volunteer supports as our council moves forward.

They have developed an online survey that will help them determine your satisfaction with the current system you are using. Your responses are confidential, and your input is valuable. The survey should take no more than 15 minutes (or less). The survey will be up until

Please encourage all adult members to visit our Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana website and take this survey. Let your voice be heard!!!

Thank you once again for the valuable part you play in distributing information. Your encouragement is also appreciated. They want to keep the goal of ’doing nothing for YOU without YOU’...
