COUNCIL

 

Family Partnership Presentation

·         Presented by Karen DuBose (Illinois Crossroads Council).  Family partnership gives financial assistance to girls in need, helps maintain council properties and supports adult training programs.

 

Spring Registration      (Barb Whalen)

  • Do’s and Don’t for Spring Online Registration.  Flyer handed out at meeting.  New:  print a copy of the “Dues Summary” when completed, in addition to completing the triplicate Membership Dues and Family Partnership Form.  The council is no longer giving out the registration patch or year bars.  Instead the incentive will be a Hub store coupon for your troop.

 

Mission Explore Experience

·         May 19th at The Mission Explore Experience math, science, engineering and computer lab at The Hub.  Program is designed for ages 10-17. Siemens is presenting.  Cost is $15.00 per troop.  Go to the Council web site’s reservations section to sign up.

 

VISTA

 

 

Spring Camporee Still needed:

 

·         Troop Main Contact Email

Email Lisa McCauley  a main contact email address for your troop. She will them email you the final camp information (activity schedules, what to pack, etc.)

 

·         Campfire Coordinator

We are in need of an individual or troop to coordinate the campfire at Camp Timberlee. The campfire coordinator will 1) Design and execute a program for the campfire and 2) Coordinate the s'mores treat.

 

·         Paperwork/Payment

If you have not yet turned in your paperwork and/or payment, please do so ASAP. The deadline was April 7, 2007. THIS IS CRITICAL.

·         A new leader section is being designed for the website.  Please submit your ideas to the Webmaster, Eden Siegler.

·         New events listed include Milwaukee Museum Overnight and Camp Day at Wild Rose.  Please see website for more information.

·         Girl Scout Leaders are invited for a weekend getaway filled with enrichment activities and program ideas.

Schaumburg Flyers

·         Thursday, July 12, 2007.

·         7:05 game (5:45pm gates open; 6:00pm Parade Line up)

·         Special gift for Girl Scouts in uniform.

·         Patch available.

·         Families welcome.

·         Signup and payment information will be available at the next VISTA meeting.

 

 

Book Drive

·         Hawthorn Junior Girl Scout Troop #3773 is coordinating a book drive.

·         Donations will be accepted through April 22, 2007.

·         Contact Valerie Parker for details. 

 

 

Yoga Instructor

Former leader Karen Krueger wants to get involved again. She is a yoga instructor and wants to teach the girls in the VISTA 15 area. Her fee is flexible. 

 

Also offering Yoga programs for girl scouts is Mary Scudella, info@totalbodyyoga.com. Total Body Yoga is located 210 Terrace Drive, Terrace Trade Center, Mundelein,

or she will come to your location.
