Community Managers:

Administration:

 

  • Communities are still looking to fill some Community Partner positions. Please contact your Community Manager if you are interested in volunteering.
  • Going forward with future meetings, our goal is to keep the VISTA portion to a maximum of 30 minutes with breakout sessions by community or age group to follow. VISTA meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the VISTA 15 Web site.
  • Fall Product Training done by Angel. If you or your troop’s product coordinator have not yet picked up your packets, please contact your Community Product Coordinator to receive them. More information and important dates are available on the VISTA 15 Web site.
  • Hawthorn Training Ambassador:  Vicki. Online New Leader training is available for all levels. The workbooks option is also available. Or, Vicki is holding a training session at her home on October 25 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. to walk through the workbooks. If you cannot make this session call her to arrange a one-on-one session with her.
  • CPR/First Aid Training:  Spaces are still available for October 21st:  9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  at Countryside Fire Department on Deerpath in Vernon Hills. - $40.00 per person. If there is a waiting list for Oct. 21, another class is possible for Wed. November 8th: In addition, anyone interested in being trained as a CPR/First Aid Trainer please contact Vicki.

 

Events:

 

  • Medieval Times:  Jill. Tickets are available at will call on the morning of the event.
  • VISTA Camporee at Camp Timber-lee May 5-6, 2007:  Lisa. The deposit has been paid:  over 400 people signed up. You can still sign up and give deposit money. Lisa will try to book more spots. The deposit is $10 to hold a spot for the day ($22 full payment.)
  • FYI, overnight opportunities are available at the Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago. Dates are Feb 2 for girls 6-8 and Feb 16 for girls 9-11. Please log on to the museum’s website at www.naturemuseum.org/index.php?id=138 for further information. Troops can make reservations individually, but mention you are with VISTA 15 and all will be located together for the evening.

 

 

 

 

Other:

 

  • By Girls, For Girls is a special conference being held this Saturday 10/21 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at The HUB. Please use the Web site to register ahead.  Two teens are needed to represent each VISTA. If you know of anyone who wants to participate in this forum, please contact Rosita at The Hub.

 

Next VISTA meeting will be Monday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. Special items: we will have an investiture ceremony for new leaders and a presentation from Junior Achievement about program opportunities for Girl Scout troops.
