VISTA 15 Service Project Opportunity:

The Brennan Ammentorp Angel Foundation:  In December 2005, a Fremont Elementary student was killed in an auto accident when leaving the school parking lot.  To honor his memory, family and friends established the Brennan Ammentorp Angel Foundation to provide charitable, monetary assistance to students in need for extracurricular programs in the areas of literacy, music and sports.  Brennan was a vibrant, energetic boy who loved golf and music but struggled with reading as many kids his age do.  Brennan held trememdous compassion for those in need and the foundation intends to carry forth that compassion in his absence.  For more information on the foundation, please visit:  www.brennanammentorpangelfoundation.org

The Brennan Ammentorp Angel Foundation is holding their first annual golf outing to raise funds for the foundation on Thursday, September 21.  There is a silent auction for which we are requesting support.  We are looking to support two of the pillars of the foundation - literacy and sports- by donating gift baskets for the silent auction.  We are accepting any new items related to those themes- books, dvd's based on books or with a sports theme, sports equipment, gift cards for bookstores or sports venues, tickets for sporting events, sports memorabilia- anything you are willing to donate.  We will assemble the gift baskets; all we request are donations for the baskets.  Please encourage your troop to support a wonderful foundation that supports children in their communities.  Donations are needed by September 5th at the latest.  Please contact either Kim Hansen or Lesley Bauer to arrange pick-up of donated items.
