SPRING 2007 VISTA CAMPOREE

MAY 5-6, 2007

 

Where:            Camp Timber-lee (www.timber-lee.com)

                        East Troy, WI (approx. 1 hr & 40 min drive)

 

When:             Saturday, May 5th - Sunday, May 6th

 

Why:               This is an awesome opportunity to get all the troops in the VISTA together for a fun weekend away activity and to better get to know each other!!  The camp has been set aside for us that weekend, we will plenty of space, and activity times for all of our girls.  Troops will have the opportunity to choose between tents, “economy” cabins, and “standard” cabins.  The activities we will have access to will be: hayrides, high ropes, trail rides, climbing tower, GPS, geology, farm animals, bouldering, archery, and animal encounters.

 

URGENT - CRITICAL DEADLINE:  The camp will hold the above weekend for us until September 30th.  We need to send the camp a deposit of $2,500 to secure the weekend.

 

At this time, we are asking troops who wish to participate to pay a deposit of $10.00/participant by September 24th.

General Info – Spring 2007 Campout

 

Tentative Schedule:            Arrive Saturday, May 5 for 10:00 a.m. check-in

                                        Participate in activities through out the day Saturday

                                         Saturday lunch and dinner provided by the camp

                                    Sleep over Saturday night for those troops that can/wish   

                                         Sunday breakfast provided by the camp

                                    Pack-up and depart Sunday, May 6 whenever you wish

 

Cost:

Package 1:  (Standard Cabin sleepers)   $63.45/person

Includes 1 overnight and 3 meals. The cabin is heated, with bunk beds with linens with bathrooms inside cabins - also has nice group meeting areas included in cabins, and comes with refrigerators, microwaves, and fireplaces.  Very Nice accommodations.  For those people that really like to stay places more like home - J. 

 

Package 2:  (Economy Cabin sleepers)   $42.75/person

Includes 1 overnight and 3 meals.  Cabin is more economical with less amenities. Bunk beds. 

 

Package 3:  (Tent sleepers)     $24.75/person

Includes 1 overnight and 3 meals.  You must provide and pitch your own tent.  Ideal for the older troops and older Brownies.  We have 1 campground reserved.  We must have a minimum of 40 tent campers.   

 

Package 4:  (Day campers)    $19.80/person

This package is designed for Daisies and any other girls who are not able to sleep overnight. Two meals (Lunch and dinner) are included.

 

Activities:

The following activities are available to all campers at no extra cost.

            Science Education Center*: 2 live animal rooms and Physical World discovery room. Open 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

             Also can request constellation talk at night if you like, or Animal Encounters or Dinosaur Fossils.

            Animal Farm – by Saddle farm Ranch

Leather Craft Shop*:  Open on first come, first served basis.  Pay at the Leather Shop for the leather kit.

    Times – 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

            Canoeing/boating:   Open 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

            5 miles of trails – maps available

            Basketball, volleyball, softball, tetherball, soccer

            Game room:  With Foosball, ping pong, and torpedo ball

 

            * These activities can be pre-booked and may not be available if another group has pre-booked them.

 

The following activities are available for an additional cost as indicated:

 

            Climbing Tower:  $8.00/person.  Maximum of 16 people per hour.  The camp director recommends this activity for campers no younger than first grade to insure safe fit of the harness. (Some very small first graders may not be able to participate.)  Pre-booking is recommended.  Times available:  8:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m.

           

            High Ropes:  $16.00/person.    Maximum of 16 per session allowed. Minimum of 8 per session.  This is a team building activity and is a 2hr commitment.  Times:  10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

           

            Archery:  $3.00/person.   Must be 8 years old or older.  Maximum of 16 per hour.  Times are 8:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m. Saturday.  This activity must be pre-booked (ie we can’t buy tickets when we arrive)

 

            Bouldering:  $4.00/person.  Maximum of 16 people/hour.  Times are 8:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m.   This activity must be pre-booked also.  (Bouldering is climbing sideways, rather than upward, along an 8 foot tall wall.)

           

            Trailrides:  $14.00/person.  Maximum of 16 per hour.  Times are 8:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m.  Must be 9 years old or older.  Pre-booking is recommended but not required. Must wear long pants and sturdy shoes.  Helmets are provided and required.

 

Ponyrides:  $1.00/per child.  Must be 8 years old or younger.  Times: 1:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m., on a first come, first served basis.

 

Hayrides:  $3.50/per person.  Times: Saturday evening 7:15 p.m., on a first come, first served basis.

 

GPS:  $3.00/per child.  Maximum of 16 per hr.  Times – 8:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m. on a first come, first served basis.
