Service Project

Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 9:00 a.m.

at Lakeside Cemetery

There is a short program followed by placement of flags on Veterans’ graves. There is a short closing at the memorial. The entire event should take about 45 minutes.

A few adults are needed to be area managers. They will meet with the organizer, Judy Zemeske, the week prior at the cemetery and will be assigned an area of the cemetery. The area managers will review the Veterans in the area and where they are. During the service, the area managers will receive flags and have each Scout in their group place one flag.

Parade

Monday, May 26, 2008, at 9:00 a.m.

at the Libertyville Train Station

Be a part of the Memorial Day Parade. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and walks to Cook Park where there will be speakers, etc. The parade will then walk to Lakeside for additional recognition and closing.

To be a part of these events, call or e-mail Brenda Smith by May13th. Make sure to give your troop number and how many girls will be participating at each event.
