When: January 17th from 1:30-3:00PM

Where: WJ Murphy School Gym - 220 Greenwood Dr., Round Lake Park, IL

Cost: $2.00 Includes a Patch

Registration: Will be taken at the January Vista meeting.

Swap-O-Rama

 

 

 

Swaps, the tradition of Girl Scouts exchanging keepsakes, started long ago when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides first gathered for fun, song, and making new friends. Originally, swaps were exchanged at national Girl Scout Senior Roundups and referred to as "Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere." Swaps are still the perfect way for Girl Scouts to meet each other and promote friendship. Each one is a memory of a special event or Girl Scout Sister.

Tips for Swaps Givers

Try not to spend a lot of money. Consider making something from donated or recycled material.

Be creative, and take time to make hand-crafted swaps.

Try to make several kinds of swaps to exchange.

Each swap should have a pin attached.

 

What to Do With Swaps

 

Girls can:

Pin swaps that are being kept to a hat

Put swaps that are being traded in a bag or wear them on a scarf.

 

Swap Safety and Etiquette

 

Girls should:

Never refuse to swap with another person.

Avoid using glass and sharp objects in swaps.

Avoid using food products, unless they are individually wrapped.
