Toiletries & Hygiene Supplies Collection

Junior Girl Scout Troop 617 is collecting toiletries and hygiene items to benefit Lake County families. The collected donations will be given to a local social service agency involved in helping families with children attain and maintain self sufficiency. The mission of the organization is to give comprehensive assistance to families in need by reducing hunger and homelessness while encouraging personal growth and self-sufficiency. They operate one of the largest food pantries in Lake County, IL serving over 20,000 individuals annually. They also operate a scattered site transitional housing program with a total of nine units.
The girls from troop 617 are concentrating their efforts on a toiletries drive to assist the organization. They will also be volunteering in the pantry and are currently in the planning stages for their Bronze Award service project.
Items will be collected at the April 1, 2008 VISTA meeting.
Thank you in advance for your support!
