  • GS Annual Corporate Meeting

o        February 23rd, 10:30 a.m. - Noon at the Hyatt in Deerfield.  Need 3 representatives from VISTA 12. Must RSVP by 1/14/08.

  • Membership totals as of 12/11/07 are down from last year.

o        VISTA 12 Girls as of 12/11/07 = 346        VISTA 12 Adults as of 12/11/07 = 176

o        VISTA 12 Girls as of 12/12/06 = 418        VISTA 12 Adults as of 12/12/06 = 166

o        January – The Leader Holiday Party – January 19th, 7:00 p.m. at Tropics in Winthrop Harbor

o        January – Mother/Daughter Event – Mommy and Me Mystery Dinner, January 12th, Noon at Christ Community Church on Yorkhouse.

o        February – High School Musical On Ice – February 8th, starts at 7:00 p.m. Elise will e-mail everyone with bus pickup location and times.

o        February – World Friendship Day/Thinking Day – February 16th, Noon setup, 1:00 p.m. start at Wesley Church in Waukegan, pick up no later than 3:00 p.m. – Theme this year is “Water”.

o        March – (Roller Skating/Ice Skating) ??

o        March - Kick It With the Storm – March 8th.  Patch earning clinic with activities for the girls and the game following at the Sears Center in Hoffman Estates.  Clinic check in is 3:30 p.m., game starts at 7:00 p.m.  Parents can order their own tickets on line at www.chicagostorm.net with login: ICC and password: CROSS.

o        April – Sabrina G checked into Action Territory for an indoor overnighter.  Cost would be $25 per person including: Bumper cars, Go-Karts, Miniature golf, Laser Tag, Arcade tokens (#?), Pizza and Beverage Buffet, and Continental Breakfast. *We can bring our own snacks. Sleeping is OK – Bring Your Own Sleeping Stuff - no cots will be provided.  We can pick any weekend in April.

o        May – (Overnighter)

o        May – May 7th is Girl Scout Day at the Capital in Springfield.  Cost is $3 per person.  Check the IL Crossroads website for additional information to be coming soon.

o        June – (Father/Daughter Event) Michelle F. Looking into fishing at Independence Grove.

o        June - (Leader - Daughter Event)

o        August – (Family Picnic)

  • GS Annual Corporate Meeting

o        February 23rd, 10:30 a.m. - Noon at the Hyatt in Deerfield.  Need 3 representatives from VISTA 12. Must RSVP by 1/14/08. – Three people volunteered to attend.

  • Passwords to the e-council website have been re-activated until 2/11.  If you have registrations to enter, do so before that date.  They will be shut off again on 2/11 and you will not get a new password until March/April.  It is VERY important that you submit your physical paperwork to your registrar in addition to entering the information online.  If you have not already done so, please turn it in ASAP!  You will need to sign a new waiver to receive your new password for Spring Registration.  Contact your Registrar if you did not complete one at the meeting.
  • If you have not already done so, you must complete a Volunteer Agreement and turn it in to Deana.  This must be done every year.  If you do not attend the meeting, you still need to get one and complete it.

  • Existing and New Leaders – if you need help getting your troop going, questions regarding training issues, policies etc, PLEASE CONTACT DEANA FOR FURTHER TRAINING!
  • Library – we have a library of Girl Scout materials including current handbooks and badge books.  If you would like anything out of the library, please contact Linda B. 
  • Badge Boxes – we also have boxes that have all of the materials to complete badges for every level.  Contact Deana to borrow them.
  • New Meeting Place as of June – if you have a suggestion for a meeting place for the Leader Meetings that is FREE, please contact Deana.
  • Junior Achievement – Deana has info regarding this program if you still need it.  Refer to the Nov. Meeting notes for more information.
  • Dodge Ball – Deana’s Cadette troop would like to organize a VISTA Dodge Ball Tournament for the VISTA. 
  • Family Camping – Deana would like to have a family camping trip.
  • Accounts – GS accounts should only have about $150 in them by year end.  If you have more money than that at the end of the year, you must have a written plan in place to show what will be done with excess money.
  • New Positions to be filled

o        Registrar – coordinates registrations.  Need one person for Zion/BP/WH and one for Waukegan.

  • Any Soldier - Linda B has patches for Any Soldier if your troop participated.  If you would like to do cards for Valentines Day too, Linda would be happy to send them.
  • Event Planning

o        March – Someone is looking into CPR recertification with the Gurnee Fire Department.

o        March – Adrianne E. is looking into a swimming event at the Zion Pool.

o        March – Coco Keys in Arlington Heights is having Girl Scout Days March 1-15.  You can get day tickets during the week from 3 to 9 for $12 per person.  Contact Coco Keys to set it up.
