Council News
Aug 25th Leader Training – Open Forum with training sessions throughout the day. Lunch Provided 9 – 3. RSVP to Lupe at the Hub.
 
No word on the Council merge. Waiting on the Board of Directors to meet in August.
 
Registration forms will be brought to the September Meeting. For new girls and re-registering. Not for Open houses. 
 
Patricia will hand out new Panoramas at the September Meeting.
 
 
VISTA Updates
Deana did not receive 8 Financial Reports. Those not turned in must be sent directly to the Hub.
 
Make sure that all bank accounts have 3 signatures on it. Leader, co-leader and Deana or VISTA Treasurer.

Family Picnic – voted that we will not use the caterer next year due to the expense, although everything went very well
 
Pool Party – Saturday night at Shilo Pool from 6 to 8. Call Adrianne if you have people who want to come.
 
Girl Scout Tent - $50 to rent the tents, setup and take down fee is $100.
 
Events:
Girl Scout VISTA 12 Camp Fire Fun
When: Saturday, Sept 29th
Time: 6 to 8
Where: Camp Oakarro, 40635 Mill Creek Road, Wadsworth, IL
Fee: $1.50/person including patch
Each scout brings a log for the fire. Leaders bring drinks, ‘smore ingredients & roasting sticks for your troop. Leaders RSVP to Angie Jackola at jackolarj@aol.com by Monday, August 27th. Money turned in at the September Leader Meeting.
 
Girl Scouts of VISTA 12 Walk Across Illinois
Troops can sign up to walk 167 Miles “Across Illinois”

Kick Off is going to be at the Zion Parade for Labor Day.
 
Zion Labor Day Parade is September 3rd
Meets at 12:30, starts at 1
Each troop should bring their own candy to toss
Kim Strathsman is coordinating the lineup.
Council is setting up a booth to encourage new membership, they will have crafts, hands on activities and give aways.
Looking for people to man the booth on Monday from 10 am to 6 pm.

Need to fill the rest of the positions.
2008/2009 Events to be planned, come with ideas. Troops can take on an event for the VISTA, please come with ideas.
