May 10, 2007 – VISTA 12 Leader Meeting Notes
- Tent – Hub is giving us $325 toward the purchase of the tent (from the storage facility money). Therefore the remaining $325 was approved by the group to pay out of the VISTA account.
- Leader Daughter Event – If you need directions or more information call Angie Jackola.
- Spring Registrations are due to the Registrars no later than June 8th.
- Trees – Each community took a tree (Waukegan took 2) that was given to the VISTA by the Hub for the 95th Anniversary. Each community will find an appropriate way to plant each tree.
- Zoo Overnight – Sue Melvin said that the gates are open at 6 pm. They will close at 6:15, NO LATE ARRIVALS. Please wear appropriate clothing, it is cooler by the lake.
- Relay for Life – June 23rd in Waukegan at Bowen Park. GS is not requested to walk, but we are looking for girls to help pass out water and as needed. If you are interested contact Michelle Fanning at 847-899-3207 or mishiern@aol.com.
- Steak ‘n Shake – May 22 and 23 on Gurnee Mills Drive. They will donate 20% of every dollar spent by Girl Scouts, family and friends. You must take the vouchers in with you, they will not be given out at Steak ‘n Shake. This money will go to the GS Family Partnership Fund. - Jewel in Zion Window Paining – May is Elise D. June is Regina I. July is Christina S. If anyone is interested in taking on a window, we will discuss the calendar at the June Meeting.
- WH Memorial Day Parade – Line up is at 10:30 am at Pfeiffer Transmission on the corner of Stateline Rd & Sheridan Rd. Look for Kim S. for line up details. Parade travels south on Sheridan Rd. to 9th St. west to Village Park. Pickup is at Village Park at approximately 12:15. There will be a trailer for the younger scouts. Advise girls to wear good walking shoes, the parade is about 1 ½ miles. Reminder that each troop is responsible for your own scouts. Make sure someone is there to supervise. Don’t forget to bring water bottles and spray bottles.
- Memorial Day Ceremony at Highland Memorial Park – Girl Scouts are invited to Highland Memorial Park, 33100 N. Hunt Club Road (corner of Hunt Club and 120) at 2 pm to participate in the Memorial Day Ceremony. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. - More books were given to Linda B. for the library. She is going to make up a current list of items available for check out.
- Pool Party – August 11th from 6 to 8 pm at Port Shilo Pool in Zion. Cost is $2 per girl, patch $1. Turn in money and count to Adrianne E. 847-360-8933 or Eileen R. 847-249-0760 or e-mail Eileen at eileenrickle@ameritech.net. By July 12th.
- Training – we are still missing training records.
- Bank Records – we are still missing bank records.
- Planning Meeting – June 14th. This will be the event planning meeting. Please come with ideas and be ready to volunteer. We will also have a Leader Appreciation Ceremony. Please bring a food to pass and your own drinks. There will be NO JULY MEETING.
- End of the Year Financials are due in June. Bring them to the June Meeting.
