I. VISTA Cabinet Positions
a. Filled
i. Registrar Ambassador - Margaret Confirmed
ii. Fall Product/Coolkie Ambassador -Christine - We thought she was, but she did not recieve a call and therefore declines the position
iii. Finance - Laura Confirmed
iv. Adult Recruitmen Angela-May not want to keep the position

Discussions about open positions took place. It’s important that we look for individuals to fill them so that we can be better organized. It does not have to be a current leader to fill the positions. Think about other friends, college students, parents of girls in your troops and talk to them about options they have to volunteer.
II. Registration of Troops
a. Goal is to retain 85% of 2005-2006 members
i. Total troops from 05-06 year was 65
1. 30 from Beach Park/Zion/Winthrop Harbor
2. 14 currently re-registered
3. 12 from Great Lakes/North Chicago
4. 7 currently re-registered
5. 23 from Waukegan
6. 4 currently re-registered
ii. Disbanded troops?
1. Plans for getting girls involved in other troops?
2. Plans for other adults being leaders?
iii. What will we do to re-register remaining troops?
1. Make a phone call?
2. Send an email to determine status?
3. Mail a postcard to remind them to get paper work in?
For all three communities, we talked about troops that were disbanding, troops that we did not have a way to get in contact with them and ones that simply were combining with others or just hadn’t submitted paperwork. Plans were discussed to send out a post card, email, or make a phone call to get an update on the troops plans.
III. Recruitment Plans for New Members

b. Special recruitment events
Open houses took place for the Beach Park community with all sites manning tables, Waukegan open houses had taken place with only a few sites manning tables, a recruitment event for Forrestal School in North Chicago was underway with plans for recruitments at other North Chicago schools.
IV. VISTA Account
a. Submit Finance Reports -Get troops finance reports to Laura so she can submit to HUB.
b. Request VISTA Advance -Laura will be taking care of filling out proper paper work to recieve VISTA advance money.
V. Announcements
a. LEAD - October 14th - HUB-Don’t forget to RSVP
b. Mission Explore Laboratory now available, reserve online!-Spaces for 60 girls, cost of $15 per troop/group
c. Product sale begins Oct 13-29th - Make sure your troop is registered to participate
VI. Events
a. Corn Maze - September 30th, slots are running out fast. There will be two different types of patches to choose from- corn mazy and hay ride patches.
b. Bonfire - Target time is for veterans day, but having difficulty in connecting with the Waukegan Park District for site and permission.
c. Eule Log - Margaret’s daughter will be planning the event. It will be either at the Bowen or Belvidere Park
d. Jewel Window - Contact Jessica - Months still open are June & July
e. Overnight May Event - it was decided that it would take place at the Racine zoon on May 12-13 (only date available) - Cost per girl $40/Cost per adult $20

VII. Reminders
a. Next VISTA meeting is on October 12th - Post cards should have been recieved this week with all other VISTA dates. If you have not recieved a post card, it may be that we do not have you registered properly as an 01 or 02 or we do not have the correct address. Please contact Patricia at The Hub to update our database and make sure you are recieving mail.
b. Our VISTA meetings were agreed upon to be POTLUCKS. Don’t forget to to bring a food, or drink to share with others.
