Girl Scouts - Illinois Crossroads Council

Through VISTAs, communities will understand the value of Girl Scouting!

VISTA is the acronym for Volunteer, Information, Support, and Training Areas and represents the organizational structure within Girl Scouts – Illinois Crossroads Council (link to council info) that blends the former 45+ service units (communities) into 15 VISTAs.

Many Girl Scout volunteers serve in administrative roles to assist with the Girl Scout Movement. VISTAs are structured with a VISTA Manager / United Way Ambassador and a cabinet of twelve Ambassadors. Ambassadors oversee the recruiting, training, and supervising adult volunteers who work directly with girls. VISTAs help represent Girl Scouting in each community, using a business support system.
