Help - How to Use this Site

Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana’s Vernon Hills Regional Service Center website is organized into five major sections located across the page header:

  • Girl Scouts Today
  • Getting Involved
  • About Our Council
  • Reservations
  • VISTAs

Each of these sections has its own main page and sub-pages.  To visit a main page, click on the section title in the top navigation bar.  Then choose a link on the page to go to one of the sub-pages, which may contain more links.  For example, Getting Involved can lead you to Becoming a Girl Scout, which can take you to Cyberspace Pledge, and so forth.  As you travel through the page levels, the pages will cover progressively narrower topics, expanding upon but related to those of the over-pages.  You will also find a cross-reference link to related information on the GSUSA website.

What Browser is Best to Use?

You can best view this site using Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or above, Netscape Navigator 6 or above, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or above.  However, since the site does take advantage of newer technologies available in the more recent versions of these browsers, we strongly recommend you download the latest version of the browser you prefer.

We have done everything to accommodate viewing with other browsers.  However, you may find that some pages don’t look quite "right".  This problem could result from differences between browsers and is not something we can control.  It is especially likely to be experienced with web browsers that are still in beta (or test) development.

Please note that the proper screen resolution to view our pages is approximately 1024x768 pixels.

What if my pages aren’t printing correctly?

If you are running out of space on the right hand margin, you have two options:

  • Go to File:Print:Properties: select landscape orientation: Apply: then click OK.  This will need to be done each time you re-boot your computer and go into the website, before printing.
  • Go to File:Page Setup and switch the paper orientation from portrait to landscape

What if my question isn’t answered here?
