Girl and Adult

Girl Scouts is for girls. We believe in them, support them, and advocate for them.

With all the distressing news that is written about today's children, it is reassuring to know that there are many girls who are doing good things for themselves and others. There are girls who are already contributing to society.

Who are these girls and who is mentoring them?

They are Girl Scouts who are guided and encouraged by a group of volunteers - the backbone of Girl Scouting. At Girl Scouts - Illinois Crossroads Council we have more than 9,500 adult volunteers. Some are troop/group leaders, mentors, while others are Alumni Girl Scouts, VISTA team members, and even short-term volunteers. Each, in their own way, is helping today's girls grow strong to become tomorrow's leaders.

You, too, can make a real difference in girls' lives! Volunteer for one of the many opportunities available at Girl Scout - Illinois Crossroads Council and choose a time commitment and the age level of Girl Scouts that's right for you.

Illinois Crossroads Council staff will support you! We provide leadership and vision in assessing, developing, and producing quality educational programs for girls, emphasizing pluralism and skill attainment. No previous Girl Scouts experience is necessary. We will train you, giving you resources and encouragement to help you every step of the way in helping girls grow strong! Find out more about volunteering to work with girls by completing an interest form.

Since I volunteered to work with Girl Scouts,
I've discovered new skills and feel more self-confident.
