Girl Scouts is for adults.

Girl Scouts - Illinois Crossroads Council depends on its more than 9,500 adult volunteers to share the responsibility for the Girl Scout movement. Dedicated professionals have fostered Girl Scout growth and have influenced the lives of thousands of girls in our council. Illinois Crossroads Council is looking for volunteers who represent the diversity of the world we live in:

  • Women
  • Senior citizens
  • Adult women without children
  • People of all racial and ethnic backgrounds
  • Women without previous Girl Scout experience

...individuals who are willing to make a difference in the lives of girls by sharing their time and expertise.

Did you know that you could spend a couple of hours a week making a difference in girls' lives?

  • Perhaps you speak another language and could help explain the messages about Girl Scouting to a girl's family.
  • Or maybe you enjoy keeping financial records and would be willing to manage the product sale funds for a local troop / group.
  • Do enjoy writing? Your skills could be utilized in writing feature stories or news releases about Girl Scouting events for the local newspapers.
  • Is teaching others something that gives you personal fulfillment? You could train the volunteers and be a part of the Illinois Crossroads Council's adult development volunteer team.
  • Network with other professionals when you serve on the board of directors or one of the council's committees.
  • Give back to an organization, as an alumnus, knowing Girl Scouts makes a difference.

Volunteer for one of many opportunities available at the Girl Scouts - Illinois Crossroads Council and choose a time commitment and area of interest. Simply complete the interest form and indicate your top three choices for more information.

Girl Scouting benefits volunteers
When does volunteering give back to those volunteering?
When the responsibilities are not only personally rewarding,
but when the volunteer's own skills are enhanced.

Girl Scouts - Illinois Crossroads Council - Selection of Adults
Every adult volunteer and staff member in Girl Scouting must be selected on the basis of qualifications for membership, ability to perform the job, and willingness and availability to participate in training for it. Applicants are interviewed, and background and references are checked.
