Workshops
The Girl Scout Promise and Law
and the four Program Goals are all considered when looking at the developmental levels
of girls. This applies to:
- physically capable activities
- emotional development
- the level of their planning skills
Together, adults and girls plan activities, complete tasks, and resolve issues. This process is often developed through workshops at the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Vernon Hills Regional Service Center.
Workshops are fully developed program curricula for use by your group. Girls decide which workshop theme they would like to explore, which location, and what day and time is convienant. Workshops come in three options:
Facilitated Workshops:
Trained staff guide the group through a time of exploration and learning. Leaders/chaperons must stay with the girls during the workshop to interact with the girls and meet girl/adult ratios. Capacity is 10 participants minimum/24 participants maximum.
Self-Guided Workshops:
Tours/trails at program centers provide an opportunity to become better acquainted with the sites and sounds of the program centers and to learn about a bit of local history!
Fees and Reservations
Fees for workshops are based on a pricing system.
Workshops staffed by facilitators are a higher cost per girl,
there is a nominal fee for the self-guided tours/trails to cover replacement items.
Please note: Full payment must accompany your reservation request. To best accommodate your request, reservation must be received at least two weeks before workshop date.
