Overview
As a contemporary Girl Scout, you may feel disconnected from Girl Scout Founder Juliette Low - before computers, CDs, cell phones, VCRs and DVDs, and even microwave ovens.
But as a Girl Scout, you are rooted in the same philosophy and values by which the early Girl Scouts lived. Use this calendar as a reminder of new and established celebrations along with other significant dates.
For your convenience, a list of all Girl Scout Celebrations is included below. Please select a month from the list to the left to view a complete list of all important dates and reminders.
Girl Scout Celebrations
 |
| February 22: Thinking Day |
| It is the birthday of Robert, Lord Baden-Powell, who founded the Boy Scout movement in England, and Olave, Lady Baden-Powell, who continued his work by heading the Girl Guiding movement. On this day, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts make a special effort to exchange greetings with their sisters in other countries, and to give contributions to the Thinking Day Fund. This fund is used to promote the Girl Guide/Girl Scout organizations throughout the world. |
