Welcome to Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Vernon Hills Regional Service Center’s website calendar. The calendar covers program activities, council sponsored events, and adult development opportunities. You may recognize this information from the Panorama: A Guide to Regional Services Modules.
New and experienced volunteers will find an array of trainings and workshops ranging from basic leadership, product program activities, outdoor education, first aid, and service team to special ways to work with girls. Program opportunities supplement troop and VISTA activities. In addition to the numerous opportunities at our program centers, we offer special activities with organizations in our communities.
Locations and Times
Planning a full year ahead can be challenging! We cannot confirm all sites and times. Many organizations and schools that allow us to use their facilities are unable to book our activities more than a year in advance.

Holiday Policy
You will notice that some opportunities are offered on religious holidays. Respecting the diversity of our membership is important at Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. However, to provide opportunities for our membership, some are offered at multiple times — some of which may fall on a religious holiday. The council policy is:
- No council, region, or VISTA should schedule a one-time event or training program on a religious holiday for which any public school district within the council has a school holiday.
- A council, region, VISTA event, or training program may be held on a religious holiday if it is duplicated at another time. Offering the event or training multiple times will respect inclusion and ensure that no one is excluded from participation.
