Are you looking for a special place to have your bridging ceremony?  Consider the Vernon Hills Regional Service Center!  The facilities are available to troops from May 1 through mid-June for bridging activities.

Facilities include the bridge, flagpole, flags, amphitheatre, program rooms, tables, chairs, stage, kitchen, restrooms, and parking.

Available Times:   Monday - Friday, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. or Noon - 2:00 p.m. Please note that our facilities are not available during the Memorial Day Holiday.

Volunteers often ask us if they can just show up to have their girls walk across the bridge.  We ask that you make reservations because it helps us plan to serve you better.  A reservation ensures that you will have access to the building in the event of inclement weather, facilities that are comfortable and appropriate for a large gathering of girls and adults.  We also have to comply with laws and insurance standards regarding the capacity of our facilities.  One year we did have a troop show up unnannounced to "just walk across the bridge".  Unfortunately, it was during a time that another troop had reserved the facility and it created a less than desirable situation for all concerned.

About the fee that is charged... We recruit, train, schedule and pay a staff member to be at the facility and available during your event to make sure the facility is ready when you arrive, provide assistance in the event of an emergency, open and close the building if necessary, and assist you with any special requests you may have.

Our reservation and fee policies with respect to bridging ceremonies at Vernon Hills Regional Service Center are as follow:

• Reservations must be made at least two weeks prior to your bridging ceremony.  Requests will be processed on a first come, first serve basis.
• A confirmation packet with facility specifics will be mailed as facility is assigned.
• A reservation cancelled at least four weeks before the date of use will result in a refund less a $10 processing fee.  Cancellations made with less than four weeks notice are nonrefundable.  The fee is transferable in the event of inclement weather.
