Overview
Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA to deliver the Girl Scout program to every girl between the ages 5-17 in our jurisdiction in order to further the development of the Girl Scout movement in the United States of America.
Our council is responsible for:
- Carrying out Girl Scout activities
- Recruiting and supporting adult volunteers
- Governing and managing Girl Scouting in our jurisdiction
- Securing funds for council expenses
- Promoting Girl Scouting in the community
To fulfill these obligations, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Vernon Hill Regional Service Center operates:
- Area service center: the Vernon Hills Regional Service Center - The service center is used for girl activities, training, meetings, tours, shopping at full-service shops, reservations and registrations, and technology access in the Mission Explore Laboratory.
- Four program centers: Happy Hollow Program Center, Morrison Program Center, Wild Rose Program Center, and Adahi Program Center - These program centers are used for day outings, council events, training, meetings, workshops, resident camp, troop camping, and summer daytime opportunities.
To ensure that Girl Scouting is available to all girls and adults in our council, each facility is accessible to people with physical disabilities.
We invite you to explore our program and service centers to learn more about what is available for Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana girls and adult volunteers! You may also want to look over the calendar of events to view the activities available at each site.
